A flash hider is a muzzle attachment for a firearm used to quickly disperse the burning gases emitted from the barrel so as to limit the amount of flash seen by the shooter.
The SP1 3 prong is the original Flash Hider chosen by the US Military.

1/2″-28 (TPI) Right Hand threads – Cal: .223/5.56/.22LR ONLY
1/2″-36 (TPI) RIght Hand Threads – Cal: 9mm or smaller
5/8″-24 (TPI) Right Hand threads – Cal .308/300 Blackout 7.62 or smaller
